Intro

Yes I am finally doing back to back days for once. Anyways I'm gonna continue on with another album I feel is criminally underrated from a band that as been around and unloved for a while. This is a completely different vibe from yesterday's review however, so don't expect this one to be as upbeat and happy as the last one.  Anyways enough ranting lets get into the review

Thoughts & Feelings

This album makes me feel like I told a bunch of angry kids to write down their emotions and let a metal band make them into songs. I don't want to describe anymore than that just listen to the record.

Smash or Pass?

Holy Water- SSMAASHH. Heavy as fuck and a perfect opener to this album. The instrumental is amazing and the vocals are brutal as fuck. THAT GUITAR SOLO NEAR THE END GOD DAMN. Great opening track.

Fight Fire With Gasoline- SSSSSSMMMMMMAAAAAAASSSSSSSHHHHHHHH. THIS SONG IS SO FUCKING FUN ITS INSANE. This takes the term "Chaos Anthem" to a whole new level. Everything about this song is fucking amazing, the instrumental, the vocals, the screaming breakdown, EVERYTHING. First "LISTEN TO THIS FUCKING SONG" award. MAN THAT BREAKDOWN HITS EVERY TIME. Easily the gold medal.

State Of Elysium- SSSSMMMMAASSSHHHH. HEAVY AS FUCK. The screams on this one are brutal as hell and the instrumental is the heaviest so far. This song is great again, not much to say.

11- SMASH. Another in your face heavy song. This one is way shorter than the rest and felt more like a hardcore song than the standard metalcore song. Nothing wrong with that at all though.

Stockholm Hearts- SSSSMMMMAAAAASSSSHHHH. ANOTHER BANGER. This one isn't as heavy and feels more like a metalcore ballad but its definitely far from slow and sad. The vibes from this song are unique again and once again everything here sounds perfect. The chorus is great, and it still has a breakdown, just not as heavy as the rest thus far.

Hayley's Lullaby- SMASH. A much needed ballad song to change up the tones and break up the noise wall of the past few. This one really shows how good the singer is at sounding raspy and brutal while also sounding emotional and calm. Everything about this ballad works, it works perfectly at its placement on the record too.

PSYCHO- SSMMASSHH. And we are right back to our regularly scheduled metalcore. This sounds like early metalcore at its finest, weird sound effects, electronic elements, brain rot lyrics, it has the whole package. Another loud heavy track to keep the themes going. Every song so far is amazing so I'm expecting more of that to follow. The breakdown is a little weak on this track but oh well.

Good Thing- Smash. This is just a really good generic metalcore song. Its nothing special but far from bad. weakest so far and that's saying alot as this is still great.

Intoxicated Haze- SSMMMASSHHH. This song is so fucking catchy and fun. The theatric electronic elements compliment the metal instrumental perfectly and the vocals are absolutely amazing. The screaming on this one sounds even more brutal than the last. Another absolute banger.

The Fall- Smash. A slow electronic ballad opening with a shitty trap beat in the background. Then it kinda picks up but by the time it does its already made me lose interest. First song on this album that I was debating passing but its still good enough to smash. Definitely picks up more around the halfway point but like I said, that opening killed it.

Legends- SSMMAASSHH. Much better opening than the last. Basically everything here is better than the last song. This song is just loud and catchy, especially the chorus. The instrumental on this one feel more theatrical than anything but it works perfectly to close off this record. Perfect closing track with a cool little breakdown near the end.

Conclusion

This album is great. Is it perfect? Fuck no. Is it better than most albums? Also no but it has its own unique charm that I just find adds alot to already great songs. Not much to say here that wasn't said during the review.

RANK: A-

I know I finally did back to back reviews. No Rangers means more free time to do fuck all, so expect more reviews. And if for some ungodly reason you want even more of my shitty takes, leave a request and I'll review an album of your choice. As always thanks for reading, any and all feedback is welcomed and appreciated.
