Intro

Kill me now. I stalled for so long because I hate one of the songs on this album more than anything else ever written. And yes, its THAT song. That song that is played at every fucking graduation or awards ceremony. Actually there are 2 of those on this record. And they BOTH suck. Ok fine I'll stop ranting lets get into the review.

Thoughts & Feelings

This album makes me feel like I got locked in a white girl born in 1997's car and the radio is broken and wont turn off. And unlike that commercial with Fred Durst, this music sucks, at least sucks worse than Limp Bizkit.

Smash Or Pass?

(Fuck A) Silver Lining- Pass. Here we go right where left off on TWTL,TRTD. Absolute dog shit. Honestly the vocals sound fine but everything else is awful. The lyrics are so bad its funny, and the instrumental is so random it doesn't work. Not a great start. Could be much worse though, its up beat and fun enough to carry.

Say Amen (Saturday Night)- SMASH the opening is so fucking weird but the song itself actually isn't bad at all. In fact, I remember this song and didn't know it was Panic, which is a VERY good thing for this song because its great. Yeah I remember this one very well, this songs actually pretty good. Sounds like a video game sound track with lyrics. First and possibly the only banger. Playlist worthy. DAMN THOSE HIGH NOTES.

Hey Look Ma, I Made It- Smash. I've heard this song at every single awards ceremony I've ever been to. Its not even that bad its just so fucking over played. Now its not great by any means, the last one was actually good and this is nowhere near that. Again, not bad just over played.

High Hopes- Pass. Our Last Night saved this song. Fuck EA for making this the theme of NHL 19. Its again, not bad, but FUCK is this over played. I have heard this song at least once EVERY SINGLE DAY. EVERY SPORTS GAME, GET TOGETHER, LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. Landmines by Sum41 is a MUCH BETTER theme for NHL, the one thing EA got right for NHL 24.

Roaring 20s-  SSSSSSMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAASSSHHHHHHH. WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS A BOP. WHAT THE FUCK???????? WHY IS THIS SONG SO FUCKING GOOD. 2ND PLAYLIST WORTHY SONG ON A PANIC ALBUM FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER?!?!?!??!! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SONG IS AMAZING. THAT FUCKING SLOWDOWN NEAR THE END. THIS IS ALMOST HURRICANE GOOD. NEW 2ND FAVORITE PANIC SONG.

Dancing's Not a Crime- Pass. And he ruined it. As soon as Brendon FUCKING Urie compared himself to MJ this song got a pass. This instrumental isn't bad but there is this weird high pitched vocal thing in the background that just sounds weird. The vocals sound pretty good too but the song itself just not "Good". The lyrics are cringe worthy. AND HE MADE THIS A BI ANTHEM HALF WAY THROUGH. What the fuck Urie, you aren't even bi you fucking poser.

One of the Drunks- Smash. This is just a really good pop song. Nothing much to say, its just a generic but good pop song. This ending wants to be Nookie by Limp Bizkit so bad.

The Overpass- SSSMAASHH. WHY ARE SOME OF THESE GOOD????? This song is WAY better than it should be. The lyrics make this look awful on paper but the delivery and the instrumental fucking carry this song. I really wanted to hate this album but I can't. A THIRD playlist worthy song.

King of the Clouds- Smash. All of these minus the opening are objectively good songs, I passed High Hopes and DNAC because of how overplayed or bad the lyrics are. This song is once again a really good pop track. The instrumental sounds great and the vocals are solid.

Old Fashioned- Smash. Another generic sounding good pop song, I kinda zoned out on this one because its just good enough to be a smash but nothing more.

Dying in LA- Smash. A good piano ballad. Uries voice sounds great here and the lyrics finally aren't some cringe thing about being drunk and sad. This songs sounds like an actual emotional song which is rare for Panic because of how bad Urie is at conveying emotion in his songs. The string section sounds great. This is a really good closer and honestly gets my hopes up for Viva Las Vengeance despite all of the negative reviews I've seen.

Conclusion

Best Panic album yet. I said it. Vices and Virtues is still my favorite just because of HOW FUCKING GOOD HURRICANE IS. But this album came VERY close to beating out even that. Roaring 20s is an absolute bop and deserves a listen. Every song on this album is decent at worst and some of these are really fucking good. I still really don't like Urie, especially his personal life so I'm gonna link a certain cover of a song from this album.

RANK: B+

That was surprising even for me. I'm scarily hopeful for the last album in this series, Viva Las Vengeance. For now though, that's all. Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.
