Intro

Motionless In White. I fucking LOVE this band so here we go. This album is their latest release and already one of their top albums on Spotify, behind only Disguise which I will review later down the line. For now though this album is a banger and has some absolutely electric features from some legends. So enough stalling, let's get into it.

Thoughts & Feelings?

This album makes me feel like I got sucked into a DOOM game. The energy this album brings makes you feel like this truly is the ending of all times, and its perfect. Yes mentioning DOOM directly is because of something later on in the album. For now, just be ready for the ride and welcome to the end of the world. Quick disclaimer, I am going to mention the features of the songs in their titles.

Smash Or Pass?

Meltdown- SSMMMAAASSSSHHH. WHAT AN OPENING. An industrial, gothic sounding opening with techno effect. The video game aspects of this album are very apparent here. Also I just cant get over how much like Marilyn Manson Chris sounds, especially in the first verse. Perfect opener.

Sign Of Life- SMASH. Another banger but just not as good as the last one. I'm going into this review already knowing my medal songs and I know this isn't even close to bronze, which is saying A LOT, because this song is great.

Werewolf- Smash. Getting INK vibes with the horror references here. This songs a bit slower and sounds like a pop-metal song more than anything else. Not bad just not perfect.

Porcelain- SSSSSSSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH.FIRST HUGE BANGER OF THE ALBUM. THIS SONG IS INCREDIBLE. The emotional lyrics and the heavy instrumental make this song a PERFECT metalcore ballad. The lyrics feel personal and the vocal delivery sells that effect even more. First 10/10 on the album. Go listen to this song.

Slaughterhouse (Bryan Garris of Knocked Loose)- SSSSSSMMMMMMAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHH. METALLLLLLLLLLLL. Heaviest song so far, as expected with the feature here. Just another great song, listen to it.

Masterpiece- SMASH. Another great ballad, just not as good as Porcelain. Needed to shake up the tempo and really helps to build that feeling of despair. THEN THAT BREAKDOWN HALFWAY THROUGH. Decent but not great again.

Cause Of Death- Smash. This just felt like generic metalcore. Worst song so far.

We Become The Night- SSSMMMMMMAAAAASSSSSHHHHH. ELIMINATION CHAMBER 2024 THEME. That's actually this weekend, pretty cool. This songs an absolute BANGER. This is so much better than the last one its insane. The vocals especially help to build the mood of despair, especially around the halfway point, oh did I mention this is another song that sounds like DOOM? I like DOOM.

Burned At Both Ends II- SMASH. Another in your face metal song. Sounds like a cross between NIN and Asking Alexandria, with Marilyn Manson on vocals. This songs great but again doesn't compare to the real gems on this album.

BFBTG: Corpse Nation- SMASH. The opening is so fucking creepy then BOOM BREAKDOWN. This song is great, I love the vocals on this one especially on the chorus. Solid track but doesn't compare to what's next.

Cyberhex (Lindsay Schoolcraft)-SSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH. BRONZE MEDAL. This song fucking slaps. This sounds like metal dubstep and im all for it. The gothic melodic feels Lindsay brings to this song are incredible. This song once again makes me feel like the world is crumbling around me and all I can do is enjoy the sound track. 10/10, and once again, sounds like DOOM.

Red, White & Boom (Caleb Shomo)- Smash. This song is fine but between these 2 songs it just gets drowned. The song sounds fine and the vocals are amazing but compared to what comes before and next it just doesn't come CLOSE to comparing.

Scoring The End Of The World (Mick Gordon)-SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Gold Medal. Listen to this song. Mick Gordon needs to do vocals more often. EVERYTHING about this song is perfect. Everything. Did I mention this sounds like DOOM? This is how you close an album. This is my favorite MIW song of all time so is was obviously the gold. That Mick Gordon verse is incredible.

Conclusion

This album is great, not perfect like the last one, but still incredible. I love this album and every song but one is an absolute banger. Some get treated unfairly however because of just how good the medal songs on this album are.

RANK: B+

That's about it for this one. Next will be Panic, I promise I'll finish that series. For now though just enjoy this one. Thanks for reading, any feedback is always appreciated.
