It's Time. Time to make Emerson question her life choices and probably ruin her day while we're at it. THIS is the big review I have been hyping up for the past little while. Now. I love this band and this album, BUT Emerson hates EVERTYTHING about this. So without anymore staling lets get into it.
This will also be the first DOUBLE REVIEW, as I will be reviewing in Blue and Her in Yellow.
Thoughts & Feelings
Personally I (Jake) LOVE this album, and this is my favorite local band (BUFFALO GANG). Now for Em's opinions: "Nothing good. I'm going to actually kill myself I hate death metal." Wow she is not excited but I do NOT care.
Smash Or Pass?
Hammer Smashed Face- "soft pass. I like the guitar but what the fuck are the lyrics. It's just him grunting. Why is he grunting. Why is he screaming. There is no need for screaming." SMASH. THIS IS THE SONG THAT MADE THEM FAMOUS AND I COMPLETELY SEE WHY. AND THIS SONG WAS IN ACE VENTURA. ABSOLUTE BANGER.
I Cum Blood- "Pass Pass Pass. They are just going ham on the instruments, are they ok? There were fucking lyrics, its not just screaming?? Someone help this girl please. Tonging her rotten anus is an interesting line. Where the hell is the estate keeper, he's just letting this happen, or is he the estate keeper? I didn't even know there were fucking words. Mans shredding on the guitar." SSSMMAAASSHSHHHHH. THIS SONG IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE. INSANE GHUITAR WORK AND THE VOCALS ARE SOMEHOW EVEN MORE DEMONIC. A+
Addicted to Vaginal Skin-"Pass. Please quote that the only reason I know there are lyrics is because I am actively reading the words. Why is he sucking blood from her ass? Find this man a good church please. I didn't like the instrumentals on this one as much." SMASH. Not as good as the last 2 but still VERY good. I do prefer the Corpsegrinder era though. He's just better than Chris.

Split Wide Open-"Pass. Why is he mutilating infants?? WHY IS THE MOTHER DOING THIS THE MOTHE-. I- I would like to note this is the visuals I'm seeing as I listen to this (videos of Capybara babies) Children used like laboratory rats. I condone this. This is why we go to family therapy early on instead of letting it build up. Instrumentations slightly better." Smash. Not as good as the last one again, just a bit more intense than the last few surprisingly. still a great song though.
Necropedophile-"Pass. Many people were once a man before they turned into a molester. He is not special. Decayed Child Sex Slave. What the actual fuck. Nope I just read worse, Intercourse With Infants. What is this guitaring technique? I'm patenting the word "Necropedophile" I have seen god and he is crying" Smash. Starting to see a downward spiral, these songs just cant keep up with the strong opening. still good though.
The Cryptic Stench-"Pass. It all sounds the same. Um. Where are the lyrics, there they are. Ok the lyrics aren't as bad as the previous songs. As of this moment. Impregnation of the virgin. I mean that's kinda how children are born. Yup these lyrics aren't as terrible on my uh- everything as the previous songs. Honestly, I think I'm desensitized." Smash. Again its just getting less and less like the beginning. I know this is an album that is supposed to shoe the mental state of the main character crumbling but its just not as good.
Entrails Ripped From a Virgin's Cunt-"Pass. Devirginized with my knife is- With a knife? You couldn't be more creative to pick another torture device to devirginize with than a knife? Well at least they die as they orgasm, worse ways to go. I'm just like, Hello? Earlier songs had way worse lyrics. Why is he extracting only the sex organs for eating? There are plenty of other fantastic organs but no he wants the sex ones." Smash. This ones kinda boring cant lie. The earlier songs were WAY more intense and really had that Death Metal feel. These just feel like heavier thrash songs.
Post Mortal Ejaculation-"Pass. His cock becomes erect, that is something you would read on Wattpad. Why is he describing it as his pus. This is what non free healthcare does to a man. All of the instrumentals sound exactly the same to me. If you asked me to differentiate these songs i wouldn't be able to. What does "I Fuck With your chest" even mean?" Smash. Yup this album definitely gets worse as time goes on. The lyrics aren't as demented and the instrumentals get boring. Still not bad just feels generic.
Beyond the Cemetery-"Pass. ON HIS DAUGHTER. Now its just incest. These Lyrics are just getting uncreative. Do better. He cast a spell, what is he a fucking witch? Gross. Honestly this sounds like an inside look into one of my serial killer podcasts. That's all I got right now. There just- Nope. I Got nothing." Smash. Again just getting boring, he's trying WAY to hard to be a shock artist.
Conclusion
"honestly I started wanting to Kill myself then just got bored of it. If I ever have to listen to this music unironically again its to the boxing ring. I need to heal after this."
This album is great, it just starts getting boring after a bit. Barnes focuses WAY to hard on being gross as opposed to having good songs. That's the main reason the Corpsegrinder era is better.
