Intro

Good Charlotte. A band I mentioned quite a bit in the last review as a means of showing what GOOD pop punk is. So with that lets get right into it, no ranting today.

Thoughts & Feeling?

This album ROCKS. THIS is how you do pop punk, not whatever that shit show I reviewed last tried. We don't talk about that in the same space as a good album. Well with that out of the way lets get to the songs.

Smash Or Pass?

A New Beginning-  SMASH. Just an instrumental to start the album but its very well made and almost mystical sounding at first. THEN THE PUNK HITS. LETSSS GOOOOO BABBYYYYY ITS TIMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

The Anthem- SSSMMMAAAASSSSSHHHH. This is the massive hit of the album. AND ITS FUCKING AMAZING. T H I S is how pop punk should be done. This song is just fucking great, I could listen to this every day. Easily better than ANYTHING that PATD ever released.

Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous-SSSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH I LOVE THIS SONGGGGGG.  This song sounds like if P!ATD had a good singer, good talent, and didn't ruin well written songs. THE CHORUS IS SO FUCKING CATCHY. AND THEY MAKE FUN OF OJ, CRACK HEADS BEFORE IT WAS COOL, A N D THEMSELVES. THIS SONG IS THE BEST FUCKING SONG EVER WRITTEN. GGAAAAHHHHHHH THIS SONG SLAPS. THERES EVEN A METAL PART AT THE END. THIS IS HOW YOU INCORPORATE ELECTRONIC INTO PUNK. TAKE NOTES BRENDON URIE. EASY GOLD MEDAL. S++++++ SONG.

Wondering- SMASH. Well the fun is over and I've heard this album enough times to know nothing tops Lifestyles but this song is fucking GREAT. Great punk music and this is how you do pop vocals for punk. 10/10 song.

The Story of My Old Man- Smash. cool tribal sounding drums to open the song. Very good punk song, not as big of a fan of the vocals on this one. still better than Urie though.

Girls & Boys- SMASH. Great song again, very catchy chorus and a badass guitar riff. Ending is a bit boring but the main song makes up for that.

My Bloody Valentine- Smash. Shoutout to My Bloody Valentine the band. Anyways this song is another banger, bit slower and heavier than the others so far but great vocals and very good production. CRAZY SCREAMING BREAKDOWN AT THE END.

Hold On- Smash. Much slower than the last few but is still a good paced punk song. Vocals are amazing on this one and so is the guitar work. Kinda boring but the EXPLOSIVE breakdown chorus makes up for that.

Riot Girl- SSSMMASH. Bringing the speed back. This song SLAPS. Nice loud in your face punk song and very good vocals. Great solo and the rest of the instruments sound great here. AMAZING production on this one.

Say Anything- Smash. Sublime?? First few seconds sound like a Sublime song. Kind of a weird opening. This song is REALLY slow for this band, but its a great Ballad and much needed for this album.

The Day That I Die- Smash. Another slow one, what's up with that? Good song but this one isnt even a ballad its just slow. Kinda off putting vocals.

The Young & the Hopeless- SMASH. THERE WE GO. The punk is back. Great song and a perfect title track. Good production and the vocals are back to normal. MUCH better than the last 2 songs.

Emotionless- pass. Very boring ballad. Unlike the last ballad this one is NOT needed. this song just ruined the momentum this album had after the last one. This is a good song its just an emotional boring ballad that I don't want to listen to in a punk album, especially not near the end.

Movin' On- SMASH. AGAIN THE PUNK JUST COMES BACK. This ones is great. Perfect closing track on this album, a nice loud punk anthem. Great Chorus again, like normal.

Conclusion.

This album is great, a few slow ones but overall VERY good. Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous is  one of my favorite songs EVER, and definitely boosts this albums score a bit but the rest of the album holds up great as well. This is how you do pop punk.
